Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China) Officially Announced! Building a Bridge for China-Arab Digital Economy Industry Development

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE) has officially announced the establishment of its China Representative Office (Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China)). This collaboration aims to jointly advance the implementation of projects under the framework of the 'Arab Vision for the Digital Economy.' This vision was adopted at the Arab Summit held in Algeria in 2022 and is supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. This cooperation is a key strategic initiative by the AFDE to build an integrated Arab digital ecosystem supported by knowledge systems and modern technologies, and to expand international cooperation in advanced digital economy sectors.

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China) will primarily focus on the joint development and investment in artificial intelligence, big data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, smart city construction, and digital solutions for key sectors. It aims to build a bridge for the China-Arab digital economy. Through in-depth consultations with leading Chinese technology companies and institutions, it will ensure that project planning aligns with the actual needs of the Arab market and possesses sustainability.

Dr. Ali Al Khouri, Chef Executive of the UAE Minister of Interiors and General Secretariat of HH Deputy Prime Minister of UAE Office, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, stated: 'The establishment of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China) marks a new stage in China-Arab digital collaborative development. By integrating China's robust industrial and technological strength with the innovative development blueprint of Arab nations, it will build a regionally competitive digital economy system.' He emphasized that the cooperation is not only committed to creating tangible digital economy project clusters to stimulate job creation but also focuses on establishing foundational digital industry capabilities within the Arab region, forming a new paradigm of sustainable development-oriented international cooperation. The UAE will serve as an innovation testing ground, with its successful experiences systematically replicated and promoted to all Arab countries.

On May 19, 2025, Dr. Ali Al Khouri, Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, held a closed-door meeting with Mr. Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, and attended the Hainan Free Trade Port - UAE Promotion Conference as an invited keynote speaker. During the meeting, Dr. Ali and Secretary Feng Fei discussed the establishment of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China) and its strategic significance. Both sides expressed their commitment to promoting the establishment of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy Sanya Cooperation Center.

The Arab Federation for Digital Economy (China) Representative Office will be driven by three main operational pillars to promote diplomatic and industrial development integration between the Arab region and China:

Business Globalisation Platform: Facilitating project implementation.

Digital Economy Industry Fund: Activating capital momentum.

These pillars work together to form a closed-loop implementation mechanism.
